Export for your accountant

Pro

Download what clients paid you, and what your monthly care plans charged, as a file for QuickBooks, Xero or a spreadsheet.

Open Agency → Payments and press Accounting export. Pick the file type, what to include and the period, then press Download file.

What is in the file#

  • Every paid proposal payment (deposits, balances and full payments), by card or crypto.
  • Every paid charge of your monthly care plans, read from your own Stripe account. Your Stripe key needs permission to read Invoices. If it does not, the proposal payments still download and a note tells you the plan charges were left out.
  • Waiting and expired payments are never included.

Money in different currencies is never added together.

Which file type#

FileUse it for
QuickBooks Online (bank transactions)Date, description and amount. In QuickBooks open Transactions → Bank transactions → Upload from file and choose your bank account.
Xero (sales invoices)One invoice line per payment, with the client, number, date and amount. In Xero open Sales → Invoices → Import. The account code defaults to 200 (Sales). Change it to match your chart of accounts.
Xero (bank statement)Date, amount, payee, description and reference. In Xero open your bank account and choose Import a statement.
Plain CSVEverything, for a spreadsheet or your accountant's own tools.

Bank files hold one currency, because a bank account has one. If you were paid in more than one currency in the period, type a currency (for example USD) and download once for each.

Prefer no files at all? Connect QuickBooks or Xero and payments are sent for you.

Good to know#

  • Dates in the QuickBooks file are month/day/year. Dates in the Xero files are year-month-day.
  • Tax is not added. Xero invoices leave the tax type empty, so choose it when you import.
  • Anyone on the team who can see Billing can export.
